      Asklepion is a vast sanctuary, which was dedicated to the god of healing, Asclepius and it is located 3.5 km southwest of Kos town. Hippocrates (the father of modern medicine) studied there, taught and founded his Medical School, which became famous throughout the ancient world and the largest hospital in ancient Greece.
